Narcotics Certification:
Extreme K-9 offers State Certification for Law Enforcement Narcotics Detection dog/handler teams. This certification is provided through training, testing and standards approved and certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
This Three-Day (24 hour) Course serves Police K-9 handlers, seeking to remain current on Detector Dog case law, Canine Behavioral Psychology, Medical First Aid, Policy and Law, Courtroom Testimony, modern scent theory and also offers improvement in handling skills, and final Certification. Certifications are good for one year.
Mantrailing Certification:
There are many variables in the discipline of Mantrailing. They key to achieving the Extreme K-9 Mantrailing certification is to be able to successfully complete three different types of trails within the timeframe allotted. Service/Assistance Dog Certification:
The Extreme K-9 Service/Assistance Dog Certification begins with a temperament test and a demonstration of the dog's basic skills. set and . Any dog that is defined as a “Service”, “Assistance”, or “Support” dog must be capable of performing a minimum of three tasks that mitigate the disability of the Handler in order to be considered for Certification. Certification is earned by practical demonstration and unanimous approval by the three-member Extreme K-9 Service Dog Evaluation Team. Call for information and scheduling.
Therapy Dog Certification:
Currently, there is no national Therapy Dog Certification standard, but Extreme K-9 has developed a measurable criterion by which we measure the legitimate caliber of the Therapy dogs we train. This certification is entitled the Extreme K-9 Medallion for Therapy Dogs. Upon the dog passing a temperment assessment, a five part evaluation will determine the team's skill and stability. Upon successful completion of the assessment, the dog/handler team will be awarded the Medallion certificate, an Identification card, and will be listed as a Medallion level Therapy Dog Handler team on our database.
